Professional Choir Video: Ode to Joy

With the support of the Friends’ Association, a professional choir video featuring over 120 children from our Primary School was produced last school year. What began as a musical project evolved into a unique shared experience for the entire school community.

Our sincere thanks go to the school management Mr. Zijlstra, Ms. Lotz, and Mr. Adams, our choir director Ms. Evans, the musical director Mr. Wilson, and Ms. Sohns on piano. Special thanks, of course, go to the over 120 children who participated with great enthusiasm and dedication, and to their parents who supported this project.

It was a wonderful experience to see the children singing together and working on this special project. And the result is truly impressive to see and, above all, to hear!

Podcast and video equipment for the school

The project aims to develop students’ digital and communication skills. The plan is to launch a student-produced school podcast and vlogs to complement the existing Spark Magazine, implemented as a joint project across Primary and Secondary.

Students will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in conducting interviews, presenting, storytelling and digital media production. The equipment can also be used in lessons for selected subjects in the IB and EB curriculum, benefiting the entire school community.

Funding needed: €1,000 to purchase the initial equipment.

Redesign of the S6-S7 Lounge

With great dedication, our student representatives took on an important project last school year: the redesign of the S6/S7 lounge. Many of the existing pieces of furniture were no longer usable and were replaced. With new colours, pictures and plants, the room was also made friendlier and more inviting.

To implement this, we as the Friends’ Association specifically collected donations from parents and provided additional financial support from the association’s funds. Furthermore, we accompanied the student representatives throughout the planning and implementation process.

The result is impressive: the S6/S7 Lounge has become a modern, welcoming, and attractive space where students enjoy spending their time. It is a wonderful example of how a student-led idea can become a tangible reality with the support of the school community.
