First Friends lecture on using social media

On February 10, the first talk in the new “Friends Lecture Series” took place in the Secondary auditorium. At the invitation of our support association, Dr. Laura Mößle, a research associate in the Chair of Religious Education & Media Didactics at Goethe University Frankfurt, spoke on “Opportunities and challenges of social media for children and young people” and offered fascinating insights into this highly topical and ever-present subject.

The talk was met with a very positive response. In addition to discussing the benefits, risks, usage habits and legal framework for social media in Germany and other countries, Dr. Mößle also addressed numerous questions that participants were able to submit in advance of the event, such as: Which rules and boundaries make sense when using social media? Are there age groups for whom the risks are particularly high? How can parents find a healthy balance between monitoring and trust? And much more.

The ESRM Friends will continue the lecture series in the coming months with another timely topic.

Football Tournament at the ESRM Summer Festival on June 28

A sporting highlight at the summer festival: the soccer tournament with prizes from the ESRM-Freunde

The soccer tournament was one of the major highlights of this year’s summer festival – full of commitment, enthusiasm, and team spirit on and off the field.
We, the ESRM-Freunde, were happy to support the tournament and donate the trophies and prizes to honor the sporting ambition of the students.

A big thank you goes to Mr. Adams, all the teachers, and the numerous helpers who made the tournament possible with so much dedication and passion.
We are pleased that we, as a sponsoring association, were able to contribute to this – and are already looking forward to next year!

Quantum Impact Racing Team among the Top 10 in Germany!

The Quantum Impact Racing Team from S6 built the fourth fastest racing car in the German final of the STEM Racing technology competition and achieved a sensational 10th place overall. Congratulations to Luis Botella and the entire team!

The ESRM-Friends have already supported the Quantum Impact Racing Team in the regional competition of the multidisciplinary, international technology competition STEM Racing, where students aged 11 to 19 develop, manufacture, and subsequently race a miniature racing car on the computer. Our team with S6 students Felix Xu, Leo Livius, Ben Heusinger, Michael Oldenburg, Konrad Nailis, and Bo Pan became state champions for Hesse and thus qualified for the German final.
