About us
The Friends and Sponsors of the European School RheinMain e.V. (“ESRM-Freunde”) were founded in October 2024 by dedicated school parents to provide the best possible support for ESRM students through additional learning and leisure activities, extracurricular projects, and to assist the school administration and teachers.
The European School RheinMain (ESRM) is a Brussels-accredited school that follows the renowned European curriculum and is one of the most important educational institutions in the Rhine-Main region. The ESRM offers all-day schooling in a German and English language section from preschool to the European Baccalaureate. It is also a meeting place and source of inspiration for around 1,800 students and their families from 70 different nations. The aim of the ESRM is to develop its students into innovative, lifelong learners through creativity, resilience, empathy and a positive attitude. Integrity, respectful interaction and acceptance of diversity are paramount in everyday school life. These ideals are the cornerstones of our school’s European and global identity.
With our commitment, we support this important work by actively lending a hand and contributing financially to the realization of projects. Whether existing or newly initiated projects – we promote them in a targeted manner and help to continuously develop the school’s profile.
All members of ESRM-Freunde work on a voluntary basis and with great commitment. We make sure that administrative costs remain low. Transparency and responsibility are a matter of course for us and we ensure that donated money is specifically channeled into projects that benefit the students of the ESRM and enrich the school community.
Our association is non-profit and, as a legal entity, is not subject to instructions from the ESRM. In this trusting cooperation, it goes without saying that the ESRM-Freunde follow principles that are strictly based on the association’s purpose as defined in the articles of association, non-profit status and voluntary service.
What we support
Together for MORE in the school.
The ESRM-Freunde make it possible.
We, the ESRM-Freunde, are actively committed to supporting existing projects and initiating new ideas and events. Our goal is to expand the range of activities for the students of the ESRM and their families beyond everyday school life.
We finance and organize, for example:
- Sports and cultural competitions
- Support for the rock band and the musical ensemble
- Lectures for students and parents with well-known personalities on current topics
- Purchases to expand the schoolyard
- Student traffic monitors to improve the traffic situation
- Scientific projects of the S6 and S7 students
We also promote and support larger school events, such as the BACBall, and facilitate the search for internships for our children in companies in the region. We are also particularly concerned with supporting children who, for financial reasons, cannot take advantage of fee-based school activities – such as excursions, class trips or special learning materials.
Our motto: Everything that helps our students and their parents at school can be supported and promoted.
In particular, we see ourselves as a complement to the parents’ association in order to promote the concerns of students and their parents through financing and/or organizational support, and work closely with the representatives of the parents’ association as well as with the school management and teachers of the ESRM.
